Dr. Reckeweg Ceanothus Americanus is a prime remedy for chronic bronchitis, liver and spleen disorders. Ceanothus is a left-sided remedy generally. It is effective in anemic patients where liver and spleen are at fault. Caenothus can be considered in chronic bronchitis with profuse secretion, Marked blood pressure, reducing powers. Ceanothus is an active hemastatic, materially reducing the clotting of blood.   

Ceanothus Americanus is suited to anaemic patients where liver and spleen are at fault. It is also useful in malarial cases where spleen gets affected. There is pain, inflammation, enlargement of spleen with fullness on left side of abdomen. There is chilliness and shivering principally down back and there is also dyspnoea and palpitation on exertion.

All the symptoms are worse by motion and by lying on left side. Ceanothus Americanus is also useful in jaundice when there is pain and fullness in the region of liver. Pain in liver and back. Ceanothus Americanus also helps in other conditions like amenorrhoea, diarrhea, dyspepsia and leucorrhoea. 

Purpose of Dr. Reckeweg Ceanothus Americanus  :

Abdomen :

• Enormous enlargement of the spleen   
• Splenitis ( inflammation of spleen ); pain all up the left side  
• Deep seated pain in left hypochondrium
• Hypertrophy of spleen  
• Leucaemia ( malignant progressive disease )   
• Violent shortness of breath     

Menses :

• Profuse and yellow weakening leucorrhoea  
• Unable to lie on left side   
• Pain in liver and back    

Rectum :

• Diarrhea 
• Bearing down in abdomen and rectum    

Urine :

• Constant urging to urinate  
• Green; frothy; contains bile, sugar
